This trip to Romania felt like taking a ride on a time machine! We started it from the old villages where you can still see unbelievable, breathtaking medieval fortresses and castles, and traveled all over until we finished in the modern capital city Bucharest which is full of clubs, bars and nightlife.
Sinaia
A town and a mountain resort at the bottom of Bucegi Mountains. The town is most famous for its beautiful Peles Castle that many consider as one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. Not only you will enjoy being amazed by the amazing castle you will also enjoy the walk in the wonderful nature and park the around it.

Poiana Brașov
Although this ski resort is more active in the winter, we had a delightful time in the summer too! This lovely town which is located between the mountains will offer you very nice hotels and restaurants with traditional dishes, great view of the pastoral city and the green mountains.

"Brasov" sign: We enjoyed taking a wonderful cable car that took us above the breathtaking view of the region all the way to the famous "Brasov" sign that lookout over the city just like the "Hollywood" sign in America.
The beautiful town: You will also enjoy walking and exploring the area and the city- my recommendation is to do it with bicycles.
Park Adventure: This attraction is great if you are traveling with kids but it is made for anyone in any age as long as you are in decent shape and ready to have some fun! Even on summer days you will enjoy this Rope park which is in the middle of a forest and in it you will find many trees to climb, tree houses to explore, daredevil swings, slides, tunnels and more all between the trees! Opposite to this park you can also find a zoo that you can visit if you have time left.
Lake Balea
You can either climb the long curved road with a car or take the cable car above it, either way on the top you will reach the beautiful lake and be mesmerized by the view. The magical lake will make you feel like you found a little piece of heaven and the curved road between the marvelous mountains will be a sight you don't want to miss. Even when we visited on summer we could still see and even play in some piles of snow and just felt like we moved to another country.
Sighisoara
Located in the historic region of Transylvania It is a popular tourist destination for its well-preserved walled old town, which is listed as a World Heritage Site. Sighisoara is the most medieval town in Transylvania, with its stone walls and defense towers, this town is one of the reasons I said this trip to Romania made me feel like a time traveler. This town is most known for one of Romania's most famous stories: Dracula since it is the birth place of Vlad and you can visit the "House of Dracula" which is a yellow house where he was born and lived with his family until the age of 4. This beautiful and pastoral town has a lot to offer you and with only 3 main streets it's extremely comfortable to visit by foot. One of my favorite things about Sighisoara is the fact that it is so colorful, it feels like you in a living skittles ad! defiantly worth visiting!
Bran
A commune in Brașov County and the medieval Bran Castle is a popular tourist destination because it is associated with the home of Dracula. On the border between Transylvania and Wallachia you will find this famous and legendary castle which you must visit. When visiting this castle you will enjoy the lovely setting of green gardens and yard, fascinating history, wonderful view and an amazing Romanian dance group performances.
Rasnov
A beautiful small town that attracts tourists with its magnificent Fortress. Located on a huge rocky hilltop in the Carpathian Mountains, 200 meters tall above the town of Rasnov, you will find Rasnov Fortress that will offer you outstanding viewpoints over the city! Besides that, this medieval dramatic fortress is full of amazing history and is an important landmark in Romania that you don't want to miss.
Bustenia
A small picturesque mountain town in the Prahova Valley at the bottom of the Bucegi Mountains and the home of an amazing cable which is the longest one in Romania. The cable car will take you to the top of the mountain through breathtaking views, sometimes different climates and will take to a lookout point that considered one of the best in Romania!
Zarnesti
A lovely beautiful town which is the home to the wonderful "Libearty Bear Sanctuary" which already rescued around 105 bears which were mistreated. In the sanctuary you will meet, learn and watch the beautiful bears in the beautiful forest.
Bucharest
After a long time in the medieval castles it was time to fast-forward our time machine to modern time and we finally came to the famous capital city- Bucharest! Of course there is a lot to see in Bucharest but it's no secret that this city is famous for its many clubs, bars and nightlife in general. This city will be great for you if you are less interested in the very historical parts of Romania and just look for a city to have a fun weekend to blow some steam.
Tip: To enjoy the local food and Romanian traditions I really recommend to book in advance and to visit the restaurant named "Caru' cu bere". This local restaurant will offer you great food in reasonable prices but the main show is the Romanian professional dancers that will start dancing in the middle of the restaurant!
I would say Romania is a great place to visit if you are looking to enjoy beautiful green views, a lot of medieval castles and fortresses but also if you are looking to blow off some steam in a not expensive short weekend in Bucharest that has a never ending nightlife.
